What is UFO Files?

UFO Files is an application that allows you to share small or large files without overloading your email inbox and, unlike other products, uses your own cloud storage, so you have control of the intermediate location of your shared files.
In addition, it allows you to send to multiple recipients at the same time, add notes that remain in the shipment's metadata for better control, and set an expiration date for that sharing.

How do I set up UFO Files?

Prerequisites

  • Have an active account with Microsoft Entra ID
  • Access your Azure subscription as a Global Administrator

Scenario

  • Subscribe
  • Take the necessary information to properly configure UFO Files

Instructions

  1. To subscribe to UFO Files you just have to access the Microsoft Azure portal and enter “UFO Files” in the search bar. Among the options that will be displayed you will see the application in the Marketplace. All that remains is to select it with one click:

    Registrar una aplicacion

You will then be presented with the screen where you can change the plan according to the number of users you want to activate. The plans are:

    1. Plan A: 1 to 10 users.
    2. Plan B: 11 to 50 users.
    3. Plan C: 51 to 100 users.
    4. Plan D: 101 or more users.

Please note that prices will be reduced as you increase the plan.

    Registrar una aplicacion

After entering your details and confirming your subscription, wait a moment for Azure to process your request.

  2. After subscribing the application.

You will see a button to configure it (“Set up your account now”). Click on it to open the final configuration screen.

Subsequently, the application configuration screen will be presented:

    Registrar una aplicacion
  3. There are only 4 short steps left to have your application ready:

    a. Enter the company name in the appropriate field and an instance name, which will determine the name of the full web address to access the service.

Then click on the “Register UFO in my subscription” button. A screen will appear asking you to grant access to the application in order to sign in and read your user profile (for authentication purposes)

    b. The second step is to create the storage account, for which you must return to the configuration screen and click “Deploy to Azure”. You will be presented with the following screen:

    Registrar una aplicacion

Enter a resource group (existing or new to create) and a name for the storage account.

Then click review and create. Azure will take a few minutes to process the creation.

    c. Connect the storage account.

The last step to configure your UFO Files is to add the connection string to the storage account you are going to use.

To do this, in your Microsoft Azure portal you will go to the storage account you just created: Select “Access Keys” from the side menu and then copy any of the two connection strings and paste it into the UFO Files configuration menu. On this screen, you can now click on the “Save” button.

    Registrar una aplicacion

    d. Users Management

Now let's add authorized users for the application.

To do this, return to the Microsoft menu Enter ID, select “Business Applications”, choose your UFO Files application, and then click on Users and Groups to manage them.

    Registrar una aplicacion

Remember that, through the portal, you can add as many users as you want, but only the first ones will be taken in order according to the number of users you have acquired through the corresponding UFO Files plan.

Ready! You can now take advantage of the benefits of UFO Files!
